Application
After you apply, we invite selected founders to an interview. If it's a fit, your coaching with a founder coach starts right away, so the earlier you apply, the more sessions you get before kick-off.

FAQs
Who do you accept?
Full-time teams, DACH-first, exceptional. Typically early stage, building with AI for a real industry. Solo founders welcome if full-time. Acceptance rate from application to investment: 3%; of the teams that enter the coaching phase, about one in eight gets invested.
What is the application process?
Applications open 1 October and close 29 November.
After you apply, we invite selected founders to an interview. If it's a fit, your coaching starts right away: the sooner you apply, the more sessions you get with a founder coach before kick-off.
Accepted teams kick off the program on 1 February. Our acceptance rate is 3%.
What if we're not accepted?
You get an honest answer. Every team we turn down after the coaching phase gets a personal video explaining why. You keep the sessions, the goal sheet and the contacts.
I don't have a co-founder or a validated idea yet. Should I apply?
Apply anyway if you're full-time and serious. The interview tells you within two weeks whether it's the right moment. If not, we tell you what the first step is.
Why Munich, not San Francisco?
If your customers are in DACH, you need to meet them. Munich was Germany's #1 region for venture capital in 2025. You still get four weeks in SF with the batch. Sitefire went to YC after Schub and came back to focus on Germany.
Do I have to move to Munich?
For the program phase, yes: 1 February to 7 June, with a desk and key at Leopoldstraße 20. Teams from outside Munich told us the batch is worth more to them, not less. RATLOG came from Dresden.
What do I get as a Schub resident?
- €25k for 2%, upfront, before any external round. A convertible note on founder-friendly standard terms, issued once your company is incorporated.
- A weekly 1:1 with the same founder coach through the whole batch.
- A batch of ~8 teams: goals every two weeks, progress in front of the batch every week.
- Four weeks in San Francisco on a curated program. Flights and accommodation paid.
- Intros to the angels and pre-seed funds that matter in Munich. On average 12 intros per team and batch.
- Lunch & learn with operators and regular speaker events.
- 24/7 access to Leopoldstraße 20: one private callbox per three residents, unlimited coffee and a bookable meeting room.
What happens after the batch?
You leave the batch, not the network. Alumni WhatsApp groups, coaches and residents stay reachable. 85% of teams are still active in Munich.
